What are the requirements for receiving the 3SAN Care Box? The patient must have a care level assessment, live at home or in a shared living arrangement, and be cared for by a private individual. Starting in 2017, care levels were categorized into 1 to 5. All patients with care levels 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 were then eligible to receive our 3SAN Care Box free of charge.
Is there a legal entitlement to care aids? According to Section 78 Paragraph 1 in conjunction with Section 40 Paragraph 2 of the German Social Code, Book XI (SGB XI), insured persons have a legal entitlement to reimbursement for care aids of up to €42 per month. The requirements, as described in the first question above, must be met.
Are privately insured patients and those eligible for public assistance also entitled to the 3SAN Care Box? Yes. Privately insured patients will receive an invoice from us, which they can submit to their insurance company for reimbursement. For those eligible for public assistance, the private long-term care insurance and the public assistance office each cover 50% of the cost.
Which care supplies are reimbursed? The following care supplies are reimbursed: bed pads, disposable gloves, hand and surface disinfectants, face masks, and protective aprons. Reimbursement for other products (e.g., incontinence products) is only possible through health insurance.
Is it possible to switch between different boxes? Yes. You can easily change your box every month. You can also pause your subscription at any time. Just let us know.
Who is behind the 3SAN Care Box? The 3SAN Care Box is backed by DREISAN UG (limited liability), which supplies care products to people in need of care and to companies in the healthcare sector. We are a contracted partner of all nationwide long-term care insurance funds and an officially recognized service provider for the supply of consumable care products.
